roasted broccoli

After the roasted cauliflower that I made a few weeks ago, I had a request for an equally-as-delicious broccoli recipe. After much thought, recipe browsing, and even more thought I kept coming back to the same concept. Extra-simple, roasted broccoli with minced garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil.

I really shouldn’t have stressed so much about finding something to add to it because it truly doesn’t need anything. Mother nature had this one right, all on her own.

Roasted Broccoli:

  • 2 crowns broccoli, cut into same-size pieces
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt, pepper and red pepper flakes

Pre-heat oven to 375°. Toss broccoli with remaining ingredients. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until edges start to turn crisp.

  1. I really think you can’t go wrong roasting any veggie. They just become so sweet and tasty.

  2. Nice. I haven’t used red pepper flakes on my broccoli before. I’ll have to give that a try.

    The best part about roasting veggies is using them the next day is wraps. LOVE it.

  3. I love that you came up with something simple to add to this. Brocolli is one of my fave veggies. I’m lucky that I truly enjoy eating vegetables plain, raw or lightly steamed but sometimes it’s really nice to add a little spice or dressing!

  6. I add a bit of lemon zest right when the come out of the oven. Such a nice flavor!

  7. i will also have to try red pepper flakes on broccoli. i have also added lemon zest along with parma and toasted pine nuts. yum-o!

    Gah, what a simple yet blissful side dish! I get bored with the steamed version of the wonder veggie, so this will serve as a yummy variation.

    Its a great variation to the boring way I usually prepare my own broccoli (Steamed). I love it, thanks for taking the time to share this… I am going to actually look forward to eating my broccoli again (I haven’t been able to say that in awhile! LOL)
