the day has arrived

In case you missed it, I’m on my way to Haiti right now and will be arriving this afternoon. This trip is a different one for me on many levels. First being that I have to pack for a week in a carry-on…the last time I packed just a carry-on I flew to Milwaukee for 1 night. My parents are expert packers (in fact, they’ve probably never even checked a bag) but I seem to have missed out on that gene. Second being that I have really not experienced poverty first-hand. I’ve seen some heart-breaking sights in Mexico, but nothing like what I’m sure I will see this week. Thirdly, I’m a little nervous that I’m going to come home with a baby. Not really, I know it’s not that easy, but I will probably want to bring lots of babies and kids home with me. 😦

I have some posts lined up for you guys this next week, including one from my very good friend, Mary Beth- the lady behind Live. Work. Design. Her blog has the best decorating ideas, gift ideas, fashion info and is one of my favorite blogs to read. (I can use a lot of help in those areas)

I’ll see you next week!

xoxo, Emily
